Omar and his son Imam make these intricately designed and crafted traditional Moroccan candlelit lamps. They made from zinc and colored glass. Come and enjoy a morning or afternoon with Omar learning how to crafted this wonderful lamps alongside him in his little shop in the Old City of Chefchaouen, Morocco.
WHAT TO EXPECT
You can expect Omar or his son to meet you in the Old City square with a translator and take you to their shop. They will have moroccan mint tea waiting for you in their shop with an introduction to the life and history of their work in lamp making. Omar will demonstrate each part of how the lamps are constructed and you will follow his lead in making your own what Imam comes around helping you get the welding and shapes correct. Omar and Imam are fun and very thoughtful. You can expect this experience to take about 3 hours.

Omar is a unique older man with an interesting story. He loves living in Chouen and the simple lifestyle of artisan work. He, his wife and three kids have been working in this trade for many years.
