BLANKET WEAVING WITH AHMED

Ahmed and his coworkers love their work and are thankful for any opportunity to share it with others. You will experience each stage of the weaving process, from the separation, smoothing and binding of pure wool to the work of a traditional Moroccan loom pacing it all together

WHAT TO EXPECT

You can expect a humbling experience learning from these seasoned artisans who have taken their disability and made it a part of their trade. You will learn how to thread and maneuver a traditional loom, as well as learn the process of preparing the wool for the loom.

WHAT IS INCLUDED

• Traditional Moroccan Tea will be served

• Translation will be provided

• All materials you will need to sew a small patch of material.

MEET THE ARTIST

Ahmed and some of his coworkers are blind weavers who have come together to form an association making traditional blankets, jelabas, pillowcases and much more. Ahmed is a humble man who loves his work and wants to share what he does with all those he meets.
