Meet Youness
The Artist
Youness specializes in making beautiful Traditional Amazigh rugs. He works with a cohort of other artists in order to make custom designs for clients from all over. He’s kind, gentle and patient, always wanting to make sure his clients are satisfied with the product he is creating for them.
The History
Youness was born in a small village near Essaouria, Morocco. He discovered his passion for woodworking and rug making when he was a young man. He moved to Essaouria where he found a teacher to help develop his rug making skills as an apprentice. After graduating from his school he began focusing on rug making full time.
The PLace
Youness lives in Essaouria, a small coastal town in Southwest Morocco.
